Diabetes
Explanation
Diabetes UK believes that about a million people in the UK are unaware that they
suffer from this illness. Most have type 2 diabetes, when the body can't make enough
insulin to convert glucose from food to energy. Risk factors include family history
and obesity. Type 2 symptoms include tiredness, recurrent thrush and blurred vision
as well as being thirsty and needing to go to the toilet a lot.
Action
If symptoms prevail, see your GP for a blood test. The main aim of treatment is to
stabilize blood glucose levels via diet, exercise and weight loss.
